Lorsque Juliette et Théo achètent un vieux tableau chez l’antiquaire, ils ne savent pas encore qu’ils ne rentreront pas seuls à la maison...

Théo et Juliette adorent faire un tour chez Monsieur Derdre le brocanteur aprés l’école, il a toujours pleins d’objets intéressants à admirer. Un jour, ils tombent sur le portrait d’un homme... assis dans un étrange fauteuil sculpté de gargouilles. Exactement le même fauteuil que celui qui trône chez eux dans l’entrée !
En échange d’une journée de travail au magasin, ils ramènent le tableau chez eux....

Sur un rythme bien cadencé, Aline de Pétigny nous fait plonger de suite dans cette histoire qui met l’intérêt des lecteurs en éveil : en effet, d’où vient ce fauteuil ? Et qui est l’homme assis dessus ?
D’étranges phénomènes commencent à se produire, Théo a l’impression que l’homme du tableau ne se tient pas comme la veille... Elle distille avec pertinence des pointes d’angoisse chez le frère et la soeur pour étoffer le mystère autour du portrait. Et elle instaure une vraie complicité entre Théo et Juliette qui, bravant leurs peurs, vont tout faire pour découvrir ce qui se passe.
La cadence est soutenue, les dialogues bien argumentés, les surprises et les découvertes bien placées.

L’univers de Stéphanie Léon convient parfaitement à ce roman. Ses illustrations en noir et blanc sont pleines de dynamisme et renforcent le côté mystérieux de l’histoire.
Les lecteurs plongeront d’autant plus facilement dans cette lecture passionnante qu’ils auront en appui les scènes clés qu’elle a reproduit avec talent.
Les détails sont nombreux et viennent alourdir l’atmosphère à souhait, c’est parfait pour se sentir en complète harmonie avec les deux héros qui mènent l’enquête.

Un roman jeunesse pleins de surprises et de frissons, qu’on a du mal à lâcher avant de savoir comment tout cela va se terminer !
Une jolie réussite pour ce premier ouvrage de la collection "Rêves d’araignée" et d’ailleurs qui a son propre site. Ainsi, les petits lecteurs pourront continuer à savourer cette histoire puisqu’à la fin du livre, il y a l’adresse du site et les mails d’Aline de Pétigny , de Stéphanie Léon, de Théo et de Juliette ! Une vraie bonne idée.
